Sponsorship

Due to its voluntary status the unit relies on external support for the majority of it's funding.

All fundraising efforts are being aimed towards raising money for our new base. For too many years we have been operating out of a tiny hut based on the beach. Hopefully in the next few years we can start work on our new lifeguard base, with wet and dry areas, an ops room, and training suite. We are in the process of becoming a registered charity and at present we're re applying for lottery grants, but still welcome all support offered to us.

Recent Sponsorship that we have received includes;

Weymouth and Portland Housing logo

Operational Polo Shirts from Weymouth and Portland Housing Association.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council logo

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council have provided us with £500 for kayak paddles to replace old worn out equipment.

JG Technologies VHF radio

Heavily Discounted VHF Radios provided by JG Technologies

Help support the unit

Would you consider making a monthly or yearly donation?

As an independent lifeguard club we receive no national or government funding, we have been unable to gain national lottery funding

Weymouth Canoe Lifeguards costs between £5-10,000 per year to run, not including capital projects (our current capital project is a new operational base costing approximately £300,000).

We are currently seeking support from the National Lottery, local and national firms in meeting the costs. We are interested in any offers of sponsorship or donations to these projects. Please contact our Fundraising officer, Secretary or chairman for further details.

Our fundraising is in many forms, from street collections to donations from charitable trusts, companies, individuals and those we rescue.
